Jeannie Maano and his wife Janice bought a home in Putāruru’s Overdale after more than a decade in New Zealand, according to a 2025 New Zealand Herald profile.

Maano grew up on Marinduque in the Philippines. He sold food and took other jobs to support his schooling, then studied agricultural technology. During university, he worked on a pig farm in exchange for pay and accommodation, spending a year sleeping in a pig pen.

His farming experience later took him to New Zealand. He arrived in Stratford on 30 December 2012; Janice joined him in 2013. The couple moved to Cambridge, where he managed a pig farm for more than ten years.

The couple began running a cleaning business in December 2021.

The 2025 report described the family’s home purchase in South Waikato. Maano still hoped to own a farm himself.
