Filipino football supporters in New Zealand will have two opportunities to watch the Philippines women's team close to home before the end of the year. New Zealand Football has announced matches against the Football Ferns at Porirua Park on 29 November and 4 December.
The series puts a practical date in the diary for families who follow both countries. For New Zealand's players, it also restores match time after an interrupted overseas tour.
A home series after the Panama disruption
RNZ's 20 October report focused on the Ferns' experience of an earthquake in Panama, where their two scheduled fixtures were cancelled. Coach Michael Mayne described the responsibility of keeping the touring group safe and his disappointment at losing the games.
That reporting gives the home series a sporting context beyond the fixture announcement: preparation had continued in camp, but the players missed the chance to test it in a match. The Philippines games now provide another opportunity as New Zealand prepares for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil.
What the organiser has confirmed
New Zealand Football says both matches will take place at Porirua Park, the home of Wellington Phoenix women. Football Whānau members can access ticket pre-sales from 2 November; general sales start on 4 November.
Announced prices are NZ$20 for adults and NZ$5 for children aged 14 and under, plus ticketing fees. The announcement also says both games will be shown live and free on DAZN, the home of FIFA+, and TVNZ.
Mayne's comments in the organiser's release emphasise the venue's atmosphere and the opportunity for an extended training camp at NZCIS. RNZ's coverage places more weight on the lost Panama fixtures and the team's need for competitive minutes.
Planning a family outing
Check the official ticket release for kick-off times and final entry conditions before arranging transport. A fixture announcement is enough to start planning, but details can change before match day. Supporters unable to travel can check the broadcasters' schedules closer to the games.
